Hello! I'm Alex and I'm a skilled composer, vocalist, and guitarist. I've been writing music and singing for almost five years and I've been playing guitar for about 3 years. A lot of my time has been spent managing my former band, Patchnotes, where I was the composer, lead singer, and guitarist. I was joined by two of my good friends on bass and drums, as well as my sister on keyboard. Together, we played multiple shows in the Sacramento DIY scene over the course of a year and amassed a following of 300 people on our Instagram. We had released a few demo recordings and practice sessions as well as one finished single before we amicably split to attend our separate colleges. After moving to Chico last year, I've formed a new band, Tunneling where I am the composer and lead singer once again. This time, I'm joined by three friends on drums, bass, and synths. I specialize in writing synth-driven punk music with emphasis on crazy basslines, intricate song-structure, heavily melodic vocals, and avant-garde sound design.
I also have some secondary hobbies. I have been coding and creating video games since I was a kid with programming languages like Scratch, Python, and Lua. I have made a few small, 2-dimensional games. I am also pretty skilled with video editing software. In highschool, my friends and I used to make comedy sketches all the time and I would edit and put together the videos for my youtube channel. I am also pretty good at rapping. I started in highschool, making joke raps for my friend Devan's fl studio beats and eventually learned to make beats myself and to this day I still like to spit ridiculous rhymes over beats.
