Gorillas are large, intelligent primates native to the forests of central Africa. They are closely related to humans, sharing about 98% of our DNA. Gorillas are primarily herbivores, feeding on leaves, fruits, and stems, and they live in social groups led by a dominant male, known as a silverback. Despite their size and strength, gorillas are gentle and peaceful creatures, known for their strong family bonds and cooperative behavior. Sadly, they are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and disease, making conservation efforts crucial to their survival.
