Designer | Student | Nice Guy

I’m a Graphic Designer and transfer student looking to complete my Bachelors and eventually teach design part-time at the community college level. In 2017 I was a couple months away from transferring to Chico State when I was offered a full-time Graphic Design position that I still have today. While I love Graphic Design, I’ve found that it’s not a job I’d like to continue doing full-time. Using my visual communication skills to convince folks to buy things for 8 hours a day has gotten pretty grueling. I decided to finish my degree and hopefully open a few doors to utilize my skill-set in more engaging ways. When I’m not working I create digital art under the pseudonym “slumberspeak” on social media platforms. I recently found some success and have been producing a body of work centered around the act of belief in the digital age. I'm a volunteer and Board Member at the 1078 Gallery here in Chico. I look forward to making more connections with Chico State and the Gallery. I also enjoy video games when time allows. I've always found it to be a great way to destress and has certainly inspired my work as a Graphic Designer. Finally, I should mention I already took a beginning web dev course at my community college. Though because it was back in 2013, I’m in the process of figuring out if the credits actually transfer. I may not be enrolled in this class next week, but just in case I am I figured I’d submit this anyway!

Some of my current favorite video games are...
