Hello, I'm a college student at Chico State University majoring in Media Arts production. I am a transfer student from Butte College. I was originally enrolled at Chico State to major in animation and game development, but quickly realized the crowd was not for me. I chose Chico State because it holds a lot of sentiment for me, as my parents graduated from Chico State. My aunt and uncle as well as their oldest child graduated here as well. This is my first year at Chico State and I'm currently commuting from Yuba City. Next year I will be moving to Chico after the Spring semester. I plan on minoring in agriculture to learn how to farm without any prior background. I plan on having a homestead with my partner and raising a family. I grew up in the suburbs and have always gravitated to a life of living on a farm and taking care of your land. My boyfriend Michael, and I have dreams of opening a restaurant and offering a farm-to-fork-style menu. Michael recently graduated from Culinary School in Napa, but neither of us has a background in farming. I'm interested in this major to cultivate the skills I'll need in the future to help build our business and bring our ideas to life. I'm also interested in filming documentaries and reality television shows; possibly weddings too. Our homestead will also be used as a venue for different events and I'd like to host some events of my own. I plan on offering yoga classes, farming summer camps, restaurant summer camps, and hosting weddings.
This fall semester at Chico state I'm taking the following courses:
