Our Story

In our early thirties, my partner Michael and I bought this property having dreamed of having a homestead we could share with others drawn to this lifestyle. One of the first conversations we had was about homesteading and sustainable living both having no experience and growing up in suburbs. Michael graduated from culinary school at C.I.A. in Saint Helena, California. He serves farm-to-table meals using seasonal produce at our restaurant B Grateful at Habitual Homestead. I graduated from Chico State with a degree in Media Arts, I grew up creating any art form I could get the supplies for. Besides film, I love caring for a farm and all the tasks that come with running one. Michael and I strive to build a community of first-time generational farmers in the Northern California area and anyone interested in getting away from the hustle and bustle of life and thinking more sustainably.
