My full name is Olivia Simonet Alvarez Garcia ( this will be important for later) and I am a fourth year Chico State student that is majoring in Media Art, Design, and Technology production. In my free time I enjoy hobbies such as watching documentaries, DJing, exercising, going on hikes, camping, and playing with my cat. I am originally from the city of Coachella, CA and it was great other than the fact that it would get up to 120℉ in the summers :). Growing up I swam competitively for most of my life up until COVID. I had originally planned on applying and going to NAU under a swimming scholarship however, after COVID hit, I had lost my motivation for the sport and stopped swimming completely. Thankfully over time, I have regained my motivation and passion for swimming and I have begun swimming weekly as a fun form of working out! As mentioned before, my full name is important. Why? You may be asking. Well my middle name , Simonet, is the inspiration for my DJ name, DJ Simi! I started to learn how to DJ in February/March of 2023 and I primarily play house music, however, I am recently trying to practice reggaeton, rap, and pop. Since picking up this hobby I have only Dj’d for friends and family at parties and pre games but, I would like to perform for larger crowds in the future! As for my future career, I am not too sure what i want to do but I know I want it to be in the PR, Advertisement, or Marketing field.
