Sabrina Boomer

About Me:

My name is Sabrina Boomer, and I am 26 years old. This is my second year at Chico State, and I love it! I am working towards my BA in Studio Arts, with a minor in Communication Design, as well as a certificate in Web Publishing. I'm still deciding on what I want my emphasis to be in the art department; I'm stuck between drawing and printmaking. Next semester, I am taking a special topics print class that allows us to print on unusual materials, and I am very excited for that class and the unique processes we'll explore. I really enjoy using several different types of materials in my works, as they bring my ideas to life in diverse ways. I'm originally from the Sacramento area and have participated in several art shows there. One of my proudest moments was being asked to be local artist Brandon Gastinell's paid apprentice, helping him with his mural located downtown! Last year, I applied to be part of Chico State's Student Show, and out of 130 students, I was one of the lucky 30 chosen to showcase my work! It was my first professional showing, and I can't wait to see what other opportunities come my way. I'm also really excited to continue my education in Communication Design, taking more classes, and working on my digital design skills. I've improved a lot since my first class, but I know there's still plenty of room to learn and grow in my artistic journey. Below is a list of the art shows I have don eso far!
