Sea Otters

Sea Otters are some of the cutest and most adorable marine mammal in my opinion, some people may find them scary. They are known for their playful nature and thick fur, they inhabit the coatsal waters of northern Pacific Ocean, primarily around Alaska and California. Their dense fur is the thickest of any animal and it allows them to keep warm in the chilly waters. Unlike other marine mammals, sea otters don't have a layer of bubbler, so their fur is essential for insulation. They play a crucial role in maintaining the health of kelp forest ecosystems by preying on sea urchins, which would otherwise decimate these underwater forests. Sea otters spend much of their time floating on their backs, cracking open shellfish or playing with eachother, and are known to use tools, like rocks, to help break open their food.
