COMPUTER ANIMATION

One half of the Computer Animation & Game Development degree would be the former half of the title, being Animation and its associated requirements. Animation is likely something everyone knows, whether that be from animated movies, other forms of media, and of course, games. This half of the degree is focused around the process of Computer Animation and familiarizing its students to the processes of the industry, while also teaching animation basics as well as other required portions, such as Modeling, Programming, and several other things. Programming is especially focused on in Game Development, but is necessary here to know the basics. While not the portion I am personally working towards, I know many people in my current course that are actively working towards this as an end goal, and are actively learning the process of creating base models, which requires many steps in itself, rigging the model; which is essentially creating a skeleton, and many more steps from there. Animation also technically covers any sort of movement, so simply rotating an object in a development program is considered Computer Animation- not good animation, but still animation. It is a complex process, much akin to the programming side of the degree with Game Development, but it is just as necessary of an element to lead to the finished products we've seen in the world of media.
