Week 12: File Types & Web Forms

Intro to this Week

I can’t believe that it’s suddenly Week 12 of the semester. Hopefully, you turned in Project 3 by Sunday night, but if not, go ahead and take a little time and finish it up. We do have a new project to start this week. In fact, Project 4 is the largest of your projects (your final project is smaller/easier, hopefully helping out at the end of your semester).

In class on Tuesday, we’re looking at Graphic File Formats, then you have a Web Forms video and some reading for homework.

I’ve not been enforcing the late policy this semester, so I am accepting all late work. This could be a good opportunity to turn in any missing assignments. Make sure to email me if you turn in something late so that I know to go back and grade it.

This Week’s Work

1. In Class: Graphic File Formats

It’s important to know what file format your images should be saved in when working on webpages. We’re going to review the most common ones you’ll use for webpages.

Review:

In case you missed the in-class presentation, watch the video below to introduce the subject, then read the following article for more details.

2. Homework

Web Forms: Watch the video tutorial below on web forms. They are not required in Project 4 (in fact you can’t get them to actually work on our server), but you may choose to build a non-functioning one for a contact page.
